Why can't i see what someone else is listening to via msn live messenger when i am using msn live messenger for mac while they use it for the win OS?

Answer:
Microsoft has yet to release a new version of Messenger for Macs that includes features that are available in the Windows version. There are alternatives such as Adium and aMSN that can use plugins to show listening status. (See links below)
