How do you invite people to a group on the new facebook?

How do I invite/add Facebook users to a new "closed" Facebook group I started, when the users are not already my Facebook friends? (please see details)

• I'm trying to organize an event using a Facebook "closed" (not "secret") group.  I created a closed page with the name of the event and now am trying to add people who I know use Facebook, but are not FB friends of mine, to that page so we can all discuss details and plan for it.  My understanding per Facebook's instructions is that there are only three ways to do this: 1. first become friends on FB with each person, then invite/add him. 2. (somehow) let these people know that this closed great exists, then ask them to request to be added, then I as the admin approve them. 3. (somehow) find each person's email address and email them a request that they join the closed group. The problem is that I just asked one of these people to try approach 2 and we failed.  I told her the name of the group, she searched and was unable to find the group, so I could not add her. Anybody know a way around this?  Thanks.

  I'm not sure if this will work in a closed group... but give it a try. You can add people to groups by entering their email address in the "add members" box. It's worth a shot. :)
