We had a DNS problem on 14 Nov, after that our impressions on Google dropped. What are good ways to understand what happened?

This is a screenshot taken from webmaster tools. The DNS was a problem only for Google crawlers, but after 3 days everything was on a nice green light. Unfortunately I have no further information about that, just because everything is operating normally. We can see the Google crawler from the logs in our server. No alerts, emails, just a huge drop.
