What would prevent a DoS attack?

What's the difference between DDos attack and Dos attack?

  • I understand what a Dos attack is basically about, but what's the difference between those 2 vobcaluray? is one done individually and the other done with a group?

  • Answer:

The difference is the "distributed" part. A simple DOS attack uses one computer to attempt to flood the victim server. A Distributed DOS attack uses multiple computers, orchestrated and all targeted at the victim server.

Other answers

DOS = Denial of Service, DDOS = Distributed Denial of Service. So yeah, DDOS is an attack using multiple computers, and DOS is an attack using just one computer.
