How can I add text to the top and bottom of a picture, but not on the picture. I have tried using word?

I dont have photoshop, so cant use what I dont have. I cannot find the text box on my word starter. And I dont have MS Powerpoint. Can anyone advise a techno idiot with detailed instructions? Thanks

Insert a text box into your document. You will be to place it above the picture.

You can do this in photoshop (but that is a paid software). You can also do this in "MS Powerpoint" and then save as "JPEG" or "PNG" or any other image format. (And you won't have to purchase another software for that because Powerpoint is part of your copy of Microsoft Office).
