An iMac with Logic Studio 9 would be good. There is a tenth version but it's duff. You can get an inexpensive USB midi keyboard plug and play. You can record, layer sounds edit make beats absolutely anything. There's musical notation on it aswell. There's a lot you can do with it scoring films and video is one of its main features. See if you can get an educational or multiple licence version it's quite pricey new.
