Can five to eight months of voice lessons make you a good singer?

    It depends on how good you already are before you take voice lessons. Before I started voice lessons, I had no mixed voice whatsoever, my head-voice was squeaky and breathy and horrid-sounding, and I had no idea about proper posture. Now, only one year later, I have a range spanning nearly 3 octaves, my voice is strong-- even in my mixed voice-- and my head-voice is naturally boisterous with a good-quality vibrato. Granted, I still have a looong way to go before I become a professional singer of ANY kind, but my vocal instructor tells me that I'm closer to being a professional singer than almost any of his other students he's ever taught when they were my age (16). Everyone's voice is unique and will develop at different rates, though.

No...it takes years.

It wont make you a superstar, but trust me, from personal experience, vocal lessons are incredibly helpful and useful to anyone wanting to sing, you learn the right techniques and skills to help you take your learning further by yourself.

^ Exactly!!!!! and I would like to add that opening your mouth and soft pallet helps a lot!! To open your mouth properly you would have to use 3 fingers vertically in your mouth. This helps open your soft pallet and makes you louder without using as much air. And when putting the 3 fingers in your mouth, you're not opening you top part of your mouth, more like you're dropping your lower jaw more. I hope this helps!!
