What does this glasses prescription mean?

  Hi Lexi, Well since "Footprin" did an excellent job saying just what the numbers are, I will try and suggest when you need to wear your glasses. Your what they call "farsighted" with astigmatisms. So when you were getting your eyes examined I would assume you were able to see nearly everything on the eye chart your doctor wanted you to see? Maybe just a bit fuzzy near the bottom of the chart. So for the most part you don't really need your glasses much for seeing distances. I also would think your ability to read from a book is still quite good as well, but the longer you read chances are your eyes start feeling tired and may even loose focus. So you need to start remembering to put your glasses on when your going to be reading or studying or doing anything else that will require close vision. Now there' the matter of the astigmatisms. Astigmatisms are interesting because they have an effect on your vision at all distances. So its hardly there in your right eye, but enough in your left eye to make enough difference that your doctor may want you to start wearing your glasses full time so that you get better vision from your left eye. Now if this is the case your distance vision with your glasses on will likely be a little blurry at first until your eyes adjust to your glasses. This is very normal.
