What jobs can you get with an associates degree in nursing?

Is an associates degree in nursing enough for film nursing jobs?

  • I know most Hollywood jobs are mostly connections but would an associates degree be enough to land a nursing job on a set if I had a connection? Or do they only take bachelors degrees ...show more

  • Answer:

CA does not require a BSN to be an RN, meaning that if you can get work as an ADN, it's fine. You need to shore up this connection and find out from this person if the studio will accept an ADN. Unless this is a full time career job, it would probably be wise to to an RN/ADN to BSN bridge as time permits.

If you have a great connection you are OK, but everyone in Hollywood thinks he has a connection.

You're more likely to get hired on as an extra in a movie than a nurse on a set. Main reason? There are more extras than nurses. Even if you have a "sure thing," the odds of actually having that connection when you graduate are slim. Then you would have to compete against people who have lots of experience. There are some people out there with impressive resumes and a new grad will have little to nothing against them.

But you must have triage skills - since you're it on the set.
