  • Answer:

If you are a nurse, everyone graduates as a generalist, meaning you do bedside nursing in every area. To do more than just this, your additional degree must be at a Master's level as you plan. So get your basic job, learn nursing well, then transfer to another when opening when there is one open. The trouble with this kind of thing, is that every job you have will be 'hazardous.' Most often eliminated are the middle management people. Changing jobs will require you to move, unless you are in a big city. Expect a probation period of 3 months/90 days and to be fired on Day number 89. While this won't happen every time, it can and does happen. They temporarily get your services and then you are out of a job and have to move to stay employed. My friend who had a PhD and was retired military, had this happen. She had to hide her advanced degrees and then worked as a bedside nurse. What a waste!
