  • Answer:

You can get the training on your own and you will have a better chance at the job. Some Community Colleges do that coursework. Once you are qualified and licensed, they are more likely to take an interest in your application.

Since the charge was reduced, you will likely not have any problem as long as you answer the question honestly.

To say you aren't going to have any problem is really not true. Employers do judge applicants based on criminal charges, whether right or wrong they have in their mind that they don't want to risk anything with giving that person a chance. However, if you had some connections and someone could vouch for you, that would help tremendously. My thoughts and advice are to network and get to know people who can help put in a good word for you. If an employer is just looking at an application for a pharmacy tech, and they don't know you from Adam...the marijuana infraction isn't going to help you. I am sure if they had 20 applicants, yours would not rise to the top. If you are able to get to know people, they may be able to put in a good word with the manager.
