    BSN programs are part of a university. So, for many programs, you take your two years of prereqs and GE classes and then ~spring of your sophomore year, you apply to the nursing program. There are a few other ways to do it, like taking the GE/Prereqs at a CC or another university, but the BSN is pretty much always issued by a university. Some schools admit you to the nursing program during your senior year of high school and you are technically a nursing major from the point you enter school. To find out what your situation would be, you can google the university websites and their nursing programs.
