  It might be that the computer is searching for the drivers from your computer instead of from the internet. I am pretty sure if you click on the pop up when you first plug in the controller you can change where it searches. You could manually install the drivers by searching for them online yourself. Another thing you could try is going to devices and printers and look for the controller in there then right click on it and click properties and there should be a drivers tab that your gonna want to click on. After you click on that there should be a driver update button. If none of those work look on YouTube.
