Can i download free games or surf online without gold memebrship?

I bought xbox pro.and im wondering that can i download free game without membership.if yes then how long would the download take!?? And can i surf internet on it. Plzz guys help

Answer:
There are currently only one or two games that are available for free to people who don't have Xbox Live Gold. Internet Explorer is available, but for now it is also only available if you have Gold. There will be a lot more available to non-subscribers in June, but for now most online features require Gold.
