What is Paranormal Activity about?

Paranormal Enthusiasts: What would you do if /you/ experienced paranormal activity?

  • You've seen the shows, read all about it, and probably wish you could experience something like that first hand. But what do you think you would --REALLY-- do if you witnessed a ...show more

  • Answer:

Enthusiasts, hmmm. Interesting choice of words. . Yahoo!Answers is by design an open forum, and by posting your question here you *have* invited all manner of answers, whether you agree with them or not. If you don't like that, go find a website dedicated only to paranormal believers--there are hundreds if not thousands of them. Why choose to post on an open, unmoderated site and then complain about it? It's not that Yahoo is perfect--for example, I don't understand Tom being downvoted so much for offering what I find to be a reasoned response. Whether I agree with it is immaterial, but it's certainly in bounds and he's as entitled to his response as I am to mine, and you should respect that. . As a skeptic there's nothing I would like more than to experience direct evidence of something I find myself unable to explain. Nothing widens our personal worlds more than new experiences. How I would respond would probably depend on the nature of the experience, and I don't know if I could define a planned response in advance. What I would *not* do is to either minimize or embellish it. I*would* put it down in writing with as much detail and fidelity possible, so that I'd have notes to refer to in the future, to guard against memory playing tricks, as it's been known to sometimes do. Beyond that, I don't know. . .

Is there anything physical that will qualify as evidence? I want to make a million bucks? Don't think my urine stain is good enough.

I'd do the same as when I see a tiger snake or dugite in the garden, call someone else to come see it and tell them to bring a camera. If something was really there we could get a photo, if I was the only one that could see it I would have to doubt the accuracy of my observations.

Investigate. Combine my skepticism with my believer side. Like Tom said. Find a way to explain it or else look at the most spiritual side. I assume you mean specifically a poltergeist spirit. Now those are quite scary. The are spirits who tries to scare you, disturb you or try to get your attention in a physical way. They are not always bad spirits and sometimes they are not spirits at all but a person around the area! But if there's a poltergeist I would do an energy cleansing right away. Because the experiences can get worst and scarier.

I not be an "enthusiast" nor am I responding to mock you... they'll respond soon enough and when they do, it be in your best interest to report them for harassment. Now to answer your post... I truly hope you not be believing what's on the tube or in most books. I've seen spirits since I was 2, many decades ago. When those visions became clearer & stayed with me through ones teens, I decided to embrace me "gifts" and help others. I've helped with a handful of abduction or murder cold cases over the last 12 yrs. and been writing 'bout/studying the paranormal for over 22 yrs. Spirits don't scare me & I've learned to keep the demons at bay. I don't perceive Death like most so I prefer to do what I must and educate others that NOT all of us are "here" to deplete the bank accounts of the "living." I'm born from a long blood line of channelers & seers & we've never charged for our "gifts."

The first thing is to HONESTLY try to debunk it. If ANYTHING prosaic could explain the observation, then go with THAT as real paranormal events are quite rare. Don't get foolish in that way though----Don't write off the "UFO" that streaked across the sky, did a right angled turn and crashed into the side of a hill as "The Planet Venus" for example. An explanation has to fit all the observations. Also ask what any other witness might have seen. Get all the facts and impressions before you come up with an explanation. SOME things are OBVIOUSLY of a Paranormal nature--or at least "UNKNOWN" The 3D whitish form in the middle of my Living room a few years back (also witnessed by two others) was OBVIOUSLY something physically unknown or technologically impossible and was most likely what people have been calling "Ghosts"---Whatever it really WAS. It was one of the rare cases where there is no possible prosaic explanation.---Not that I did not try, but holographic tech that could produce something like that does not exist. Do not let your imagination run away with you. Paranormal phenomena only goes as far as what was actually observed or measured.---"Ghosts", "spirits" Demons" Monsters, etc. are only the FOLK EXPLAINATIONS invented to explain these events. What they REALLY are is a MYSTERY. We have the choice to accept that fact or Study the phenomena in an effort to understand its real nature If we do not Ignore it. BUT be ready to accept that it may be something ordinary, encountered or seen under unusual conditions, Something STILL UNKNOWN, to our modern Science (Yes there is still that possibility) that we haven't discovered yet. And finally it might really BE what it is preported to be. ------Don't actually BELEIVE it, bt be open to the possibility.

Dabbling in the paranormal is evil according to the bible..now if youre an evilutionist , I can debunk that quite easily, and if you believe in evilution you are an enemy of God.

No! Dear, I can not keep to myself what is the truth about spirits, so I'm here to tell the truth, and not only here, but where is the paranormal, all over the world! Well, since you talked about hate, I do not hate anyone who goes into the occult, if you do, are opposed, as I know and I know, who are his followers, worshipers of demons! You know that, right? Even the demons leave their servants gifts to his followers, but in the end the soul that has served the demons will go to hell, not heaven is better?? Therefore, I would like to stay and pee in the toilet in his time, not run away before the demons are the demons that need to go away, you know why? God is more powerful demons! A hug, Hello!

I lived in an extremely haunted house (in the immortal words of Winston Zeddemore: I've seen s&*t that would turn you white!); so active infact that a paranormal group who we asked to investigate it, left and didn't want to come back for their evidence review. They met with us an the local library. They were afraid of the extremely powerful Native American ghost in our house. It didn't really bother us so much as it did people who came over to visit. It sounds strange, but this spirit sort of became an unwanted family member. I remember one time before our community had tornado sirens, a tornado was approaching our neigborhood and the ghost woke use up. So, these days when I experience paranormal activies I tend to shrug my shoulders and think to myself "I've seen better/worse."

Interesting that those who say spirits are demons are the same who ask to be posessed by the Holy Spirit? What do I do? I take notes and research at my central city library, local libraries and online for geneaology. I once traced the living relatives in Boston USA of a surgeon-dentist I saw at work in Aberdeen UK in 1853, and sent them a photo of where he worked. They were very pleased to have the information of a piece of their family history. Although gruesome and bloody I was fascinated at what I was experiencing, and all aspects matched the facts. The building had been altered and was shown on an 1850 town map as having back stairs outside - as I had seen someone go out and down them. Operations were without anaesthetic as I saw patients were awake and restrained. This man was a surgeon-dentist and I saw him working mostly on the mouth, but the other operations surprised me. Before research I presumed they were separate professions. No evidence remains today as the shop staff were unaware, and there are no stories or published history before I saw it. Very satisfying to uncover true history by seeing it.
