Before you return it, try shaking it a few times. It might be a little scrambled. Or the surface might be dirty, so wipe it down with a clean cloth and see if that helps. When it starts saying stuff like "beelzebub" and "possess you" and whatnot, you'll know it's working properly. The little pointer will slide right to the letters you want every time.
