everything you described is what i think of the name Julie. I think it's a beautiful name and if i had a girl friend named Julie, I would call her "Jewels" for short.

Julie is my aunt's name and I like it, although I do like Julia or Julianna a bit better just because I tend to prefer longer names.

I can't think of an old lady when the name was trendy just 20-30 years ago, so I think of women in their 20's... I prefer Julia. It has more of an edge yet also more class (probably because it's more of a classic) But I do like Julie. It's simple, yet stands out.
