Hi! I empathise with you - I'm aspiring to be an Olympic swimmer for the UK First, you need to train hard. Every day. It takes serious **** to become an Olympic athlete. So keep at it - remember, there is always room for improvement You need to realise there are many costs with the Olympics - it's not an automatic money maker. You're gonna need lots of things to prepare you, and the only real way you'll get money is through sponsorship. Okay, once you've been training for a bit, you're gonna need a coach. Don't tell me you can do it on your own - you can't. What do all Olympic athletes have in common (besides major willpower) a coach. Like I said, plenty costs in Olympics. A good coach will be a mentor as well, and you should be able to connect with them. Once you have a coach, continue training hard. You're going to need to begin entering lots of competitions in order to get noticed. Start with nationals, then move on to internationals. If you don't medal? Who cares! You'll have the experience necessary to prepare you for the Olympics. By participating in competitions a lot, if you do well it will bring you to the notice of scouts from the track and field team. Make sure you meet the requirements for your event. I'm not entirely sure (British) but I think the USA track and field team have the requirements listed on their website Also on their website should be the date and place for the Olympic tryouts. Once you've trained up with your coach and made sure you meet the requirements, go along and try out. Do you best! If you don't make the cut, don't be too disappointed. You're young, and you have the time to wait around for the next Olympics. Train up and tryout again, some of the athletes will have retired, leaving you with a better chance. If you do get in, congratulations you're in THE OLYMPICS Good luck! I can't say I'll be rooting for you because TEAM GB!! But I'll definitely support you
