Is it legal to do tattoos without schooling and in my home?

Yes and no. You can tattoo from/others home (tattoo party) - depending on your areas laws - but are highly dangerous and very unprofessional. No matter how much you clean a house, its never properly sterilised for tattooing Here's were the no comes in - you need to be registered with your local government AND have a licence to tattoo - it IS ILLEGAL to tattoo with none of these - you can be fined and/or jailed. And if anything goes wrong with tattooing anybody, they can sue you!! If you want to be a tattooist - you must be trained properly - you train for about 4 years before tattooing skin., anyway I digress - goto a studio and ask about apprenticeships or attend a tattoo school. You must be atleast 16 depending on you countries law So think long and hard about tattooing anybody in house!

in australia heaps of Aussie teens buy the tattoo gun off eBay and tattoo them self and others and tbh it looks SH!T but ae go ahead and tattoo your self and others, you may think your a bad *** because you got tatts but at the end of the day it's still gonna be a home job that's looks like crap trust me I'm one of the stupid teen that got a home job tatt and I regret it but i got it coverd it up but yeah you can do home tattoos in your house with out any schooling

Yes you could get in alot of trouble. If for some reason you messed up or they didn't take care of it right and got infected they could sue you. Believe me there are lots of people that love to sue you just to get free money. Even if you got them to sign a waiver I think you could get in trouble for not being licensed. I know you can practice on yourself but others is hole new box of worms. Well good luck and if you really want to become tattoo artist go see if someone will let you be their apprentice.
