How should I study with the SAT prep book?

  First, I would start thinking about the PSAT and get a review book to study for that test. That test determines if you can get National Merit Finalist and if you do alot of schools give out full ride scholarships. For the SAT you can go to reasonpreps youtube channel and he has videos that help people review all of the topics on the test. As for the actual prep book, go through all of the review sections first, then take about one test a day each week up until the test date. Start with the fourth test though and save the first three for last. This is because only the first three have actually been given SATs and those are th only one that will give you a definitive score. If you look at all the other tests you will see a score range like 670-730 instead of 710. If/when you are done with the tests in the blue book you can go online and type in SAT QAS and this will give you access to even more practice tests. You may have to type in the name of the test too like "SAT QAS January 2012". Also use the collegeboard's practice tools like question of the day and practice questions. Also take a visit to college confidential and click on their discussion tab, after that on the left side of the screen you should see a SAT and exams Prep link click on that and you will have an entire forum f people prepping for the SAT and you can find many more good tips there. Also look into getting another prep book like Dr. Chung's SAT math and Erica Meltzer's SAT grammar. Your schedule should look something like prepping over the summer for both SAT and PSAT (get at least barron's book for PSAT). Then take both PSAT and SAT in October. Then take keep studying through November and December (maybe sign up for another test in one of these months. Then keep studying through winter break and take the SAT for January.
