In the end it all comes down to the taxes you're going to pay. The german system of "tax classes" is a bit tricky, so you should definitely try and find someone to talk about that. But not on yahoo answers, seriously best would be to contact the german embassy. Someone who can give valid informations or maybe even certainty. The salary sounds quite nice. In germany, years of experience actually do not count that much compared to diplomas and a proven record of success. So it is hard to say whether this offer is good or not. But still: taxes? But in the end, the question will be whether it's worth it or not. You won't do your wife a favour if she (and/or you) won't be happy in Berlin.
