Can a 17 year old travel out of the country without parental permission or consent?

If the ticket was bought online by an 18 year old friend, could the 17 year old board the international plane alone without providing any source of parental consent? I live in the US ...show more

nope. you need a document signed by both parents and notarized that gives you permission to leave the county as a minor. suck it up and wait until you are a legal adult.

No, you need written and notarized permission of your parents to leave the country without them. It doesn't matter who buys the ticket. You would be stopped at security (and wouldn't get a refund on your flight either).

To travel out of the country you will need a passport and any necessary visas for the countries you're visiting as well as required parental permissions.
