Generic Benadryl causing problems?

  Sounds like your diet is to blame. A 30 lb weight gain doesn't come out of nowhere, and to have high cholesterol at 23, that's not normal and has nothing to do with being a nursing student. Not even my 60 year old dad has high cholesterol and he eats steaks and burgers everyday The tachycardia is also another problem. What does your diet consist of? You really need to reconsider your daily routine. You'd be surprised just how much the wrong foods destroy every aspect of your health. At 28, I also had high blood pressure, swelling of the feet and face, and a very fast resting heart rate with a murmur. I changed my diet, went on the Atkins program and every single one of those issues went away after 2 weeks and they haven't come back since. I also dropped 50 lbs in 3 months on top of that. After those results, it's obvious what was causing the problems. I've never felt better and I've never been healthier. Your diet is everything. You need to start keeping a diary. Write down everything you eat, how much of it you eat, what your activities are, and all medications you take. You can't depend on Benadryl to sleep. If you are having trouble, ask your doctor for a real sleep medication, or change your lifestyle around to accommodate better sleep. You sound incredibly unhealthy and it needs immediate attention.
