Most homeschool families spend $500-1000/year. You can save some money by getting used books from Amazon, ebay, or other homeschool families. Also, look for books at your local library. Keep in mind that online schooling is not homeschooling. With free online programs, you are still a public school student. You study similar things using similar materials except the work is done online. You would be expected to work mostly independently. There is a lack of direct adult supervision. So if you are struggling with your studies, online learning may not help you.
