  • Answer:

You get better by taking classes, workshops and by getting experience. If you're worried about your auditioning skills, you can find an acting coach to specifically address that. If you're looking to get jobs - then learn the business end of things and how you fit into the industry so that you can effectively market yourself. Networking is a major way that actors find out about opportunities. Good luck.

film and drama is way over me, it sounds like you got some good luck so far, but i did go and audition for a local play at my age 50 and it was for a play based in scotland and i thought i knew that accent cause i could fake it pretty good or so i thought. well about 20 showed up and when it came down to reading the play out loud i felt i just entered a town from old scotland every single local person from reno could speak like they just got off the boat and i was the odd man out. these were all ages and very good at what they did. non professionals but man they were good. so i say join a local community theater group and get your chops the old fashioned way, hard work and persistance.
