How do I find a financial adviser?

I have recognised Financial Adviser Qualifications in the UK. Is there a way to find out if these would be eligible in the USA ?

    No way. Licensing is through the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), and specialized courses & exams are required. Along with continuing education requirements every year to renew your licenses if you can ever get them to begin with. Worse, the banking & financial industry is still reeling from the implosion of 2008, and mass layoffs continue. No employment visas either. Total non-starter. Even if you had another way to immigrate to US with a green card, plan on years of courses & exams to qualify. And then probably no job anyway.

For the same reasons a lawyer would have to start form scratch, you would have to start from scratch, the laws are different. Consider: as a financial planner in the US with two clients in the US, one earning $75,000 annually, the other $500,000. Do you know how to manage their exposure to taxation at retirement? You say you have Certificate Level qualifications with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). I wasn't familiar with the organization so I googled it and what came up were the CII in Nigeria, India, Singapore. I Imagine there is one in the UK and lets assume there is one in the US. Did you get your certificate from the US or the UK? Would you put your money with somebody in the UK who got their certificate from Nigeria, India or Singapore?
