Why are former British American colonies wealthier than UK and former Spanish and Portuguese American colonies poorer than Spain & Portugal?

The USA uses capitalism, allows people to make more money. Why the usa has the most millionaires in the world. Sorry cant answer about Spain but they aren't exactly wealthy but are better than the countries you mentioned. Id look at the history of those countries they were founded and many people there were oppressed bc they were either native or black and very poor. Maybe lack of a good education and the caste system they have, they dont take care of their slums.

Well the US and Canada are huge, bigger than any Latin American country. Chile is wealthy and stable, even Iberians are going there for jobs since their economy is ****** up. Brazil will surpass Spain and Portugal in a few years. BTW, Jamaica, Belize, and a few other UK colonies are not rich.

Well the USA and Canada are very big countries with many resources. The Spanish and Portuguese colonies received independence much later than the USA as well and have many more Natives (OBVIOUSLY) which drags the country down because they didn't become educated and etc. like the white people of Canada and the USA. They were more inclined to stay in their communities
