    First check your state's requirements for the CPA. With a bachelors degree already, including finance and economics,, you may find that you need only 5-6 courses to complete the requirements for the CPA. The Associates degree will focus on making you into a bookkeeper. You probably already have the introductory financial and managerial accounting courses. You need Intermediate, Advanced, Cost, Tax, Auditing, and Law to qualify for taking the CPA exam. Most states require 150 credit hours to get certified, and you will easily have those. You may even manage to get the qualification with an MS or MBA degree. The Associates degree would be a waste of your time and money. Aim high, not low, and enter a respected, well-paid profession instead of a clerical job.

No. To be a professional auditor, you need a degree in Accounting. Employers usually prefer Business admin uni grads to economics grads. But once you land the job, it is job performance that matters more. All the best. Do plan carefully. Explore your job options. Be open to jobs.

Thanks Prof! I was actually thinking of taking the CPA after I am done with those accounting classes. I have most of the requirement done. Just need to study my butt off...My brother in law is almost done with the CPA exams so I guess I more or less do have an advantage.
