What car amp would you recomend for a 12"Kicker 40CWR124 (CWR124) car subwoofer?

    Amps are essentially the most important mechanical part of a good system. Because the subwoofer is running 800W RMS, you'll want an amplifier to run about the same. Rob is correct with going with a top tier amplifier. From personal experience, I recommend a Hifonics amplifier that gives out the true wattage.

Powering Kicker subs, you probably want something along the top lines. Kenwood, Pioneer, and Alpine make great quality amps. Alpine is a little over priced, but they make good mono block amps which you should use if you're powering only one sub.

I would recommend powering your system with a Sundown Audio sae1000d amplifier with the gain set by a professional using equipment such as a SMD dd-1 distortion detector as I use.
