How can I delete an ongoing event in my calendar?

I am getting a reminder of an event that I cannot find in my calendar...how can I delete the event, if it isn't even there?!?

  I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble finding a specific event to delete in your Yahoo Calendar. This may be happening because this event is a part of a calendar layer that is not currently enabled. To view events within a specific layer you do need to make sure it is enabled by clicking the check box next the calendar name on the left hand side of the screen. I recommend enabling all of your individual calendars to see if the event appears. If you continue to have this trouble please save a copy of the reminder email in your Yahoo inbox and post another question here on Yahoo Answers so that we can investigate further. Please also make sure to provide the name and date of the event so that we are able to locate it.
