  What you're doing is your only option. Unless the person filling out the subscription card signed his actual name and phone number to the card before sending it in there would be no reason for the magazines to send the card to you, even if they retain the card after entering it into the system. The only way this will stop is if you were to catch the person filling out one of these cards or if they get tired of doing this.
