How Many of you have received a Yahoo upgrade warning?

I just received an e-mail stating Final Warning to update before May 5th, 2014? Is this for real?

  • The email I received on 4-28-14 states that Yahoo is closing their Classic account to upgrade and that it is necessary for me to upgrade via a link provided within the *Final Warning* ...show more

  • Answer:

That's nothing but an outright scam. Whatever you do, avoid clicking on the links in the message and giving out your personal information to the scammers. You could risk getting your account hijacked in the process if you do so. Get that message spammed straight into oblivion right away. Remember you're already using the current version of Yahoo Mail, as the classic one has already been phased out several months ago. Remember when you receive official messages from Yahoo, look for its purple logo to the left of the sender's name. This indicates to you the message came straight from the company, ending only with the address @cc.yahoo-inc.com, and not the scammers themselves.
