Is the message I am getting on my cell phone about my Yahoo access needing a passwors updat from Yahoo or a scam?

I have tried to get access to my email on my cell phone but a message pops up saying I need to enter a valid password. Is this message legitimate and from Yahoo or a scam of some sort?
