In terms of Greater London, there are a lot of places to see. Kingston-upon-Thames is a lovely little town you can visit, which is just 30 minutes away by train from London Waterloo. Richmond too, and it's not too far away from Kingston. In terms of parks, I'd thoroughly recommend Richmond Park, which you can access from either Kingston or Richmond, or any one of the surrounding towns. As far as beaches go, you'd probably be better off getting a train south to Brighton - it's much further out obviously.
