Once you have answered a question on Yahoo Answers, is it not possible to post a second answer to the same question?

I have answered some questions on "Yahoo Answers". I don't follow most up. However, I have noticed a few have had other answers added after mine. These answers are ...show more

Answer:
You can edit your answer, allowing you to add more information to it. You can't post a second answer to the same question. People who want to make it plain that they have added something usually start the addition with Edit: or PS: to make it clear.

You can edit your answer, but you cannot call out other users who have answered,& how are you so sure that your answer is correct?

The comment box is the only way to comment on another answer. This is not a forum so you can not argue back and forth about the merits of an answer.

OTher than going back and hitting the "Edit" key and making changes, there is not a lot more you can do.

answers have been added after yours and you are perpelxed by this? huh??? no you can't post a second answer to one question but you can edit it or delete it of course there can be more answers after yours just as your answer appears after those who have already answered - I have no idea why this is a mystery or an issue... you can leave more than one comment so continue what you started saying into the next comment box - problem solved a wrong answer is not a violation and if you wish to leave a comment under a wrong answer, be polite as insult can get your comment deleted (no violation report or loss of 10 points though)

Since the correct information is in your own answer (assuming it is), you can either use the 'Comment' feature to point out the error in another user's answer, or edit your own to indicate that an/other answer(s) contain/s incorrect information. Be careful, though. You risk a calling-out, ranting, arguing, or insulting violation if you name another user or are disrespectful in any way in your edit or comment. To turn the situation upside down ... if you come across a question to which a wrong answer has already been given (but you have not answered that question), the best way to 'correct' misinformation in another user's answer is to answer the question yourself, providing the right information. Not a good idea to point out wrong information in another's answer unless you also provide (or already had provided) the correct information.

You can edit your answer. You cannot answer the same question a second time for another 2 points. If you delete your own answer instead of editing your own answer, you cannot answer the question a second time, AND you lose the 2 points you got for answering the question when you delete your answer. That is how YA has ALWAYS worked. You CANNOT point game by answering the same question multiple times. Just edit your answer, multiple times, if you want to.
