Why did Yahoo change its layout?

Can someone really be spending time on the phone with YA? That seems like a bigger waste of time than using the computer to do YA. Yahoo 1) don't change what is working, 2) stop changing just for the sake of change, 3) let people choose what format they want to use, 4) you are NOT google stop trying to be.

Maybe it really was time for change. Visually, I think it's better. It's a fresher and more modern look. I think people have become so used to complaining, they're not willing to give it a chance There are a few changes I can't say I agree with, but most make sense. There is no longer a way to switch back to the old layout.

The old green layout is dead, though personally I prefer it. I have been told that they changed it for the sake of mobile devices. Eight years ago, people weren't accessing the Internet through mobiles. I'm one of the old fashioned people who still uses a laptop all the time for the internet. I guess I'm one rare dinosaur!

The problem was that it did not work perfectly fine. It was full of glitches, users were complaining, and users wanted new features. Many of the things people complain about now were features other users were asking to get. The site needed to be updated to work with the changes in Windows systems, to work on mobile devices, and they also made the whole site simpler. It was a rough rollout and they still have lots of work to do, but it is better than the glitchy green version at this point. At least community moderation works most of the time.
