How can I become a Canadian Air Force pilot?

Can Indian Air Force pilots become airline pilot without CPL?

  • I want to know that after leaving INDIAN AIR FORCE OR after retirement from INDIAN AIR FORCE can pilots join AIRLINES without getting COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENSE?

  • Answer:

I think India's DGCA observes the same policy as UK CAA (or EASA) - That is - no issuance of civilian licences for pilots of the IAF - This is same as with the RAF or RN pilots in UK - One thing is that flight time and experience logged remains acquired - And can be used towards civilian certification of a CPL or ATPL - But an IAF pilot has to pass all written tests and flight tests for civilian certification - With the airlines in India, you need a CPL with I/R to be first officer (co-pilot) - And you need an ATPL to be captain - Contact the DGCA in Delhi to obtain a clarification - Very few nations give civilian certification to their active/retired military pilots - As I know it is the case in Argentina and Belgium - No equivalent to US FAR 61.73 is done there - .
