What is Google Finance?

What are some alternatives to Google Finance?

  • I've found Google Finance lacking, and in the two years I've used it they've made virtually no enhancements. What are some quality alternatives that will allow me to track my portfolio online?

  • Answer:

I am also looking for google finance replacement. Bloomberg offers a free http://www.bloomberg.com/markets/watchlist/ and it is pretty good - entering trades is a bit cumbersome but once they are in there there are some nice graphs and other features.

Yahoo! Finance is similar to Google Finance, and has about the same features, etc., but it is updated with new features and stuff more often :) I also liked Watchlist from Bloomberg as the above two people said.

If there is a university nearby, you can go to the library and see if you can use Capital IQ. It has a great summary of the firm and screeners :D

I've found Morningstar to be excellent on reporting, especially in my particular investment area, investment trusts. They do a two week trial period for their paid for service (about £150 a year I think) which I will be investigating when I get a chance.
