Answer:
Cats do not get rabies that much. the vaccine will NOT kill if you do not have it. That is why they give it to you if they think you have came in contact with it. The kitten just does not like you. If you get rabies, after the gestation period, the rabies makes you go crazy and you will die a horrible death. They say Edgar Allen Poe died from this. Look up rabies on the net, you got a computer.

It sounds like you're dealing with a frightened kitten, not a rabid one. A scared kitten will hiss and threaten you and may even try to claw or bite you if you try to touch it or pick it up. To pick up a scared kitten, gently and very quickly grab it by the scruff of the neck. Then support its rear legs with the other hand while you lift it up. Talk softly to the kitten. Gently stroke the top of its head. When the kitten relaxes, let go of its scruff. Continue stroking the top of the head and scratching the neck and behind the ears as you talk softly to it. This is one way to reassure and help show a scared kitten that human touch is safe and positive. Rabies is a rare disease. For more on rabies in cats see the below links: http://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/neurological/c_ct_rabies http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/cat-care/rabies BTW rabies vaccine doesn't kill you if you don't have rabies.

The vaccine is powerful and you get many shots. It has hurt some (like many meds do) but it has saved many lives. It will not kill you if you don't have it. As blueman says cats do not get rabies that much. In fact there has only been one case of rabies in pet cats since the 50s here if I remember right. Racoons and skunks are the biggest carrier I don't know why the kitten is hissing and scratching--maybe its just not socialized well. No it probably won't tingle unless the wound is fresh and still bothered by any contact.
