I would like to know if it is possible to find out the name of a hidden wifi SSID. I don't want / to know how to get a password or anything, just what the name of the network is. ...show more

Answer:
A hidden SSID is not really hidden, it just is not broadcast. So all you need is a tool or program that can listen to wireless in promiscuous mode, and when anything communicates with that AP the SSID will be transmitted in the clear (not encrypted). So it is really only hidden when that AP is not being used.
