Look up Johnny Lee Chung's project with Wiimotes and infrared pens for any TV, whiteboard, or computer monitor. You can make a stylus type of "touchscreen" for about $150 over the cost of the TV. You could even use fingers for interactive use. See: http://johnnylee.net/projects/wii/ for an idea of what you could do and save yourself a few thousand dollars.
