I have only use Inventor 2014 which isn't CPU hungry at all. An i5 will do fine. Video editing however, is extremely CPU demanding and you will want an i7 CPU 8-16GB RAM. SSD will load everything so much faster but you might need an ext hard drive for video storage. Computers are bought to be used. Just get the one with the best spec for 1k and don't get too hung up on brand. If it will stay home most of the time, get bigger screen with higher resolution for CAD software. If it will be used on the road often, check the battery run time.
