Best mod to get GTA IV work on a laptop?

    GTA IV is a very poorly optimised game by Rockstar to begin with, even with the recommended requirements for PC you'll find that it performs horribly. There are no mods that you can install to force the game to RUN on your laptop. Installing it is another story; you can install it no problem. But it will run horribly. Your choice is to either get a better laptop (with a better graphics card, ram and cpu) or stream the game from your PC to your laptop. :|

Laptops cannot be upgraded to make them better gaming machines. You should never purchase a laptop which cannot do everything you need it to do out of the box because they cannot be upgraded (generally). There actually is ONE thing you might be able to do, but it isn't cheap. Search for eGPU to see how to set up an external GPU on a laptop. If your lap top has an mSATA or Express Card slot, you can do this.
