  i am not a market guru, but i would have to think, in terms of money value, it can't be a consumer model simply because they are low priced and the model numbers change every year. my guess is it has to be the Sony VO 5800. it cost about 10 times what a consumer model did, and was produced over about a 20 year lifespan. That particular model was exceptionally popular with broadcasters, cable companies, libraries, schools, movie studios and industrial AV departments. In case you are not familiar, it was U-matic format which was the standard for video exchange among professionals. It was a basic record/playback deck capable of remote control, was the first to read tape position in time units, and could be connected to a timebase corrector for genlock and legal broadcast and cable use.
