How do I save a video from a CD to a computer?

How do you save a video from a homemade cd onto your computer without taking the video off the cd?

The only way to do that properly is to use a specialized program that can RIP the video from DVD. When I say "rip", that means to copy video from disc into a format playable on your computer. For standard definition, any AVI file is good.

sounds like it's a DVD. Are they folders that say AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS and the audio one is empty... and the video one has .vob files? if so it's a DVD are you on a mac or PC? If it's a DVD you should be able to play it from the folders once you copy it to your HD. What are you trying to do? Why do you want to copy it to your computer?
