  First, if you're trying to save to a network drive, try saving to a local hard disk instead (save it on your desktop instead of on a network drive). If that doesn't help or isn't the case, try the following: 1: Click File, then Options 2: Click the Advanced tab 3: Scroll down to the "Save" options and un-check the box titled "Always Create Backup Copy". 4: Save using a file name that does not include spaces or special characters.
