• Answer:

  Do you know if the file is compressed? If not, you can ask them to compress the file to h.264 encoding. This will make a huge difference on file size without loosing much quality. If it's already compressed, ask them to put it in a zip file, then send the zip to you. The zip file will shrink anything inside of it (in this case, the video) to a tiny size without changing anything about the file! When you get the zip file, you simply download it and decompress it, which will transform it into a larger video file for you to edit. Hope I helped! :)
