My movie maker file won't open. an error message just pops up and i don't know what to do. help please?

i saved a movie on my windows live movie maker on my usb then after a few days i tried to open it but an error message just pops up. this is what it says... Sorry, Movie Maker ...show more

It looks like you were trying to open a Movie Project on a different computer. If you don't have a copy of the original clips in the other computer then that's the reason it is giving you an error because the Project cannot find the original clips. Remember that a Project is just a text file containing your editings. It isn't the real movie you have created. What I suggest is that you go back to your first computer and save your work as a Movie instead of as a Project.

If you tried to open it on another computer then the other computer may be running an earlier version of movie maker or the file type may not be compatible. If I were you i would go to the microsoft forums and search for a solution there. Or you could type "Sorry, Movie Maker can't open this project file." into a search engine and possibly look for a solution that way. Hope this helps!
