How do I download pictures from a cd and then email them?

Please Please tell me someone how to download my pictures from my cd's to my windows 8.1?

    Put the CD inside the DVD drive of your new computer. Click on Desktop tile. Right click on your desktop. Go to personalize. Then on the left click on change desktop icons. Check Computer option then click ok. You will see a Computer Icon on the desktop now. Then click on Computer Icon. You will see your DVD drive there. Under as Devices with Removable storage. Click on it. Then your pictures will come up.. Then do like you did on XP copy them where you like once you open your CD from there. To me I think Windows 8.0 and 8.1 is crap without the start menu which would have made this easier. Which you can install classic shell from the internet to do this if you like. If you hate the tiles in windows 8.1 you can disable what they call the metro screen with classic shell.

Go to This PC then double click on the CD drive. Should see the pictures. Simply drag and drop to your location.
