Answer:
The basic idea is to login on godaddy and in the domain's settings, change the A record to your own IP. This will only work if you have a static IP. If you don't have a static IP, you need to signup for a DynDNS service like noip.com, then redirect your .com domain to the noip subdomain. In both cases you need to enable port forwarding in your router's settings (forward port 80 to your computer's LAN IP).
